Comments:
This was a fantastic place to stay simply because I loved the water access. There were lots of birds around and we even saw a mama moose. There were secluded spots for tents, tucked away areas, and also big open spots for groups. But there was water access all over! You can get in the river in a canoe or tube and float down to Beaver Dick Park and get out there, I thought that was awesome too. My husband went fishing and caught a decent 15" trout. Great place, pretty water. Decent trees.

This campsite (and probably most campsites around the Palisades) is pretty popular during the Summer, Mostly because of the proximity to the lake. There was just a tad of snow when we were there but we found lots to do. There is lots of hiking opportunities. The campground connected to trails that led to the Upper and Lower Palisades Lakes, it's a 3-7 mile hike. Some people hike in their things and camp there. My husband's favorite part about this place was the fire pits. they have a grate and a rotisserie bar that made cooking a lot easier. But on your way in through Swan Valley there is a gas station that has "World Famous Square Ice Cream." This is a must, the huckleberry ice cream was delicious. Overall we really loved Palisades Creek and are planning on going back later this year.

Comments:
This was an interesting trip. In Idaho Falls and Rexburg there wasn't very much snow at all, just in the shady parts, so that is what we were expecting. I have found that this is a much colder place possibly because of all the trees and shade. The campground is owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and they keep very good care of it. All the individual camping sites are well kept and clean. There are bathrooms for in the summer and a central pavillion. Because you have to rent out the whole campground at a time ($100/night) it is ideal for large groups. I have been here during the Summer and it is so nice! Lots of places for exploration and small hikes, there is even a little stream running through the campground.
